In the darkest epoch of Dominaria’s forgotten histories—long before the Brothers’ War, before the rise of planeswalkers—there was Uldrex, the Infernal Wyrm of Worlds. Born from the molten blood of the plane itself, Uldrex was no mere dragon, but an ancient conflagration given flesh, a creature whose gaze could set mountains ablaze and whose breath could melt the sky.

This image, the Eye of Uldrex, is said to have been painted not by mortal hand, but by the ashes of his own destruction—when the Cabal sought to bind his essence and siphon his fury into a single rune of power. They failed, of course. The ritual scorched the land for leagues, and only the echo of his watchful gaze remained, seared into the very stone where he had fallen.

Look closely: the slit pupil of deepest black pierces through the inferno, a vertical wound in reality itself, surrounded by veins of fire that twist like living magma. The golden-orange light does not merely glow—it seethes, crackling with trapped mana, the essence of a being too powerful to die. Around it, the charred scales form a jagged ring, each one like a shard of cooled lava, holding back the impossible brilliance within.

Scholars of Tolaria have long whispered that the Eye still lives, a remnant of Uldrex’s consciousness. They say it watches from across the Blind Eternities, hungering for the return of the world that birthed it. Some claim that when planeswalkers tear open the fabric of reality, they risk catching the Eye’s attention—that a faint glimmer of fire follows them, unseen but waiting.
